In May 2022, the University of Birmingham’s Institute for Global Innovation will host the Forum for Global Challenges.
Taking place at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre, the conference is bringing together academics, policy makers, practitioners, business leaders and industry representatives to find solutions to global challenges faced by all of us.
Informed by over a year of deliberation and consultation, the conference will be a unique opportunity to share experience and ideas. We are inviting proposals for contributions on various important topics. Details on each topic are provided in the downloadable guide.
In brief these topics are:
Food & nutrition
Education & employment
The future of cities
Health & wellbeing
Mobilities & migration
Proposals for contributions can address more than one of these topics, as we recognise that many challenges lie at the intersections between them.
The types of contributions should be:
Live Presentation (in person or virtual)
Live Poster Presentation (in person)
Digital Posters (this can also include a 3-minute recorded presentation)
Any of the above
If accepted, selected contributions will be shared live – either in person or virtually.
The remainder will be recorded contributions, uploaded to the virtual conference platform. Recorded contributions can include a PowerPoint presentation or poster, both with a short supporting video.
Registration is not required to submit contributions, but registration will be required to present the accepted contributions (whether live or virtual).
